INTRODUCTION
Hokkaido International School is located in Sapporo, on Japan's northern
most island. It was founded in 1958 and has grown into a multi-cultural
institution of 25 nationalities offering a western education with
a US-based curriculum. Graduates attend top universities in the US,
Canada, Australia and the UK.
CURRICULUM
Hokkaido International School offers an international curriculum with
a US foundation. AP classes are offered in English, Physics, Calculus,
World History, and from 2006, Japanese.
STAFF
All Hokkaido International School teachers are licenses in their home
countries. Along with core instruction in English, HIS offers Japanese
and Spanish from 7th grade.
FACILITIES
Hokkaido International School is a day and Boarding school with a
dormitory that can accomodate up to 20 students. The school is a purpose-built
facility with 15 classrooms, Science Lab, library, computer lab, gymnasium
and lockerrooms. In 2005, HIS added a new track and soccer field.
