School Summary
Founded 1999
100 students
Preschool to 8th grade
15 faculty members

We are a growing international school located on the outskirts of Nagoya, Japan.  Our ICAN-kids at Seasons SunPlaza near Fujigaoka has classes for students who are two to four years-old.  Students who are in kindergarten through eighth grades are at ICAN campuses in Nagakute.  We have fifteen faculty members who have been trained in U.S. - style education and come from five different countries.  We are a partner school of the Network of International Christian Schools which operates 20 schools around the world.
ICAN exists in order to provide an English curriculum based on a Christian philosophy to international and Japanese students.  The quality of our program is being recognized because we have been accepted as a candidate for accreditation by two U.S./International organizations - Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).  We are scheduled to have our program fully accredited before the end of 2007.
The atmosphere is positive.  Instruction is in English.  ICAN accepts both Christian and non-Christian students, and our students learn to work with and respect people from around the world.  Because we are a small school, students also get experience relating to students younger and older than themselves, and they receive increased individual attention from their teachers.
Our school foundation is based on a passage from the Bible, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
