Aoba - Japan International School (Suginami Campus) is a multi-cultural and bi-lingual-orientated school designed to meet the specific needs of both Japanese and non-Japanese children resident in Japan who come from a wide variety of educational cultural backgrounds. Over 30 nationalities are represented in the student body.

Children are accepted on the basis of an interview and a review of the transcripts from the child's previous school. An intensive English programme is provided for children who do not speak English at the time of enrolment.

Aoba - Japan International School is affiliated with Aoba - Japan International School Meguro Campus, which has a nursery, kindergarten, and pre-school programme for children of the ages 1.5 to 5.5.

Graduates of Aoba - Japan International School are placed into Japanese schools, other international schools in Japan, or into boarding schools in Europe or the United States. The school is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and by ECIS.

The curriculum is especially strong in the areas of mathematics and in language development, and classes average less than 20 students per class.
